Founded in 2008 as New York City's first self-serve frozen dessert shop, 16 Handles was built on the idea that dessert should be as expressive and inclusive as the city itself. Since then, we’ve grown with heart, led first by founder Solomon Choi, and now by Neil Hershman, our largest franchisee turned owner, who is steering us toward exciting national and international horizons.

We partner with passionate franchise owners and community organizations to make every location a local favorite. Through initiatives like Trees for the Future and neighborhood outreach, we’re committed to giving back while serving up joy.
