1. Archival Gallery

Archival Gallery, in Sacramento since 1983, presents contemporary Northern California Fine Artwork and Gifts. Collections are curated by D. Oldham Neath. D. is a co-founder of Second Saturday and has been part of the Sacramento arts community for over four decades. She managed the Solomon Dubnick Gallery for seven years, and served as president of the Center for Contemporary Art for three years. Neath has been active in the region’s non-profit arts community as the Art Curator for KVIE Public Television from 2009-2019, by supporting fundraising and awareness for the Artists in Crisis Fund since 1986, and as a co-founder of Chalk It Up

2. Crocker Art Museum

Crocker Art Museum – Discover a diverse collection of artworks that span centuries, continents, and cultures at the Crocker Art Museum, the primary resource for the study and appreciation of fine art in the Sacramento region. 3. Capitol Museum

The Capitol Museum volunteers offer additional educational opportunities to the public including living history programs in period clothing, reenactment of historic events, and the annual Admission Day event, among others. Our dedicated volunteers fund museum projects and give freely of their time to make the museum a fun place to visit.

Part of Capitol Parks’ mandate is to maintain and protect historic rooms, including the Secretary of State’s office, the 1906 State Treasury, the 1933 State Treasury, and the Governor’s anteroom, main office, and private office. These rooms illustrate legislative historic offices in the early twentieth century. Walk around and stop by these rooms during your visit! Other historic rooms hold rotating museum exhibits as another means of educating and inspiring Capitol visitors.

MOSAC piques curiosity and sparks imagination in our guests of all ages with hands-on interactive exhibits and programming that explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

Our exhibitions address global and local issues on topics relating to energy, health, water, nature, space and design engineering. The state-of-the-art planetarium theater screens a variety of spectacular star shows and feature films.

MOSAC addresses important global themes by framing them in a relevant and regional context for our visitors. With over 100 exhibits to explore, you’ll always find deep and engaging content in our galleries, which include: Health Connections | Conexiones de Salud, Nature Detectives, Powering Change, Water Challenge, Destination Space, Design Lab and the UC Davis Multiverse Theater.

5. Sojourner Truth African Heritage 

Sojourner Truth African Heritage – Shonna McDaniels, a visual artist and community activist, envisioned an institution to preserve Black history and celebrate the accomplishments of African American people and their legacy. As a result the previous name of Sojourner Truth Multicultural Art Museum changed to Sojourner Truth African American Museum. We offer resources to document, preserve and educate the public on the history, life and culture of African Americans
