5. Emily Design
At Emily Tucker Design, we believe that a home is more than just a space—it’s a reflection of your journey, your stories, and your aspirations. Every room tells a part of your life, and our purpose is to shape the backdrop where those moments unfold.
Founded by Emily Tucker in 2015, our studio thrives on long-term partnerships with clients, whether you’re growing your family, building a dream vacation home, or refreshing your style. We specialize in ground-up construction, renovations, and interior decoration, always with an eye for scale, color, pattern, and personal storytelling.
Emily draws from a strong foundation in architecture and design, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Planning from the University of Colorado Boulder. Her path led her through design capitals like Los Angeles and New York City, where she trained under the guidance of celebrated industry icons Ruthie Sommers, Kelly Wearstler, and Steven Gambrel. These experiences shaped her holistic, intuitive approach to design.
Now based in Boulder, Colorado, Emily leads a team dedicated to creating warm, intentional spaces tailored to the people who live in them. From start to finish, we meet clients exactly where they are in the process and help bring their vision to life with care and creativity.
Outside of the studio, you’ll find Emily adventuring with her young family or retreating to her peaceful mountain cabin to recharge and reflect, always gathering fresh inspiration for the next space waiting to be transformed.
More often than not, clients find us first in the process of building their team. We are happy to recommend any architects, builders, or subcontractors to be brought onto projects. We discuss the scope, budget, and overall design needs to make sure everyone is on the same page. If everyone is on board, we will have our clients sign a contract, and then the real fun begins.
We will have an initial call or meeting to discuss the overall feeling we want to achieve. We will talk about the architecture, colors, and the wants/needs that our clients would like to see in their home. We prepare a concept presentation to determine the aesthetic and spirit of the home.
Once we have a design direction, we will prepare schematic drawings for furniture, cabinetry, lighting, and anything else within the scope. We start with a set of “as-built” drawings of your house, and propose any architectural changes, draw suggested furniture plans, and discuss the needs of every space.
Depending on the size and scope of the project, we will have a few meetings to propose all materials for your home, including stone, tile, plumbing, and appliances. Shortly after that, we will have another meeting to propose all your suggested furnishings, fabrics, lighting, and window coverings.
After every single item is approved, we will start invoicing, ordering, and putting custom items into production. Throughout this process, our team will work with subcontractors, vendors, makers, and builders to ensure everything is being built to our specifications. Our project managers will work with the team closely to keep everything on track and within the budget. As items are completed, they will be shipped to our ETD-managed warehouse for inspection and storage until the home is complete and ready for installation.
