Laura has been in business for over a decade, but has decorated homes her entire life. It's her passion, and her love. She graduated from the New York Institute of Art and Design, and can provide many references and examples of her work.

Laura Hill of Lime House Interiors views her clients’ rooms as backdrops, setting the stage for life’s most precious family moments. Communal gathering underlies every project, and, for Hill, no job is too small as she strives to make an enduring impact on homes and hearts. “I feel like the Lord has everyone picked for me,” gushes the Alabama remodeler, whose client process begins with a project design board and often ends with a unique bond.

“I see this as my ministry because I enjoy helping people, and if I can glorify God while making things pretty, then count me in.” In her most recent project, Hill transformed “the ugliest house on the street” and drew inspiration from her home state’s beauty.

Kitchen shelving built from 100-year-old lumber lines a bright ceramic backsplash, while natural Alabama white marble dazzles atop a black mahogany island.

In every room, Hill combines elements of boho and Scandinavian styles, but it’s her skillful inclusion of antiques that catches the eye.

Be it a 19th-century still-life painting hiding in plain sight, harvest baskets upcycled as wall art, or thrifted dressers straddling a Turkish rug, Hill’s textured accents evoke the peaceful charm of a European bed and breakfast.

Adding to its character is the home’s compartmentalized layout that led Hill to craft various nooks, “like a surprise in every room,” she says. Hill’s knack for creating new from old allows clients to repurpose cherished treasures.

“If you own something classic, like a good set of bedroom furniture, we can add detail and drama in other places to make it feel new again,” she says. It’s a skill that is both useful to clients on a budget, and, Hill hopes, one that inspires the kind of intimate connectedness of a time long ago.
