Smoothie Bars and Café
Since 1933, Silver Grill Cafe has been a beloved fixture in downtown Fort Collins, Colorado. It all began when Leonidas “Flossie” Widger opened a cozy one-room diner, famously named by a hungry sign painter in exchange for a pork chop lunch. For over 90 years, the cafe has served hearty meals to generations of locals, from farmers to foodies.
In 1979, on Valentine’s Day, John Arnolfo and his partner Mike Gress took over the humble space. John eventually became the sole owner and expanded the cafe into four adjoining historic buildings, preserving original architectural gems like early 20th-century ghost signs on the brick walls.
In 2021, after 42 years at the helm, John passed the torch to Alan and Jackie Jantzen, seasoned restaurateurs with deep roots in the Fort Collins dining scene. Today, Silver Grill is not only known for its rich history and welcoming atmosphere but also its legendary cinnamon rolls—12,000 baked each month—with a bold goal to hit one million in five years.
Silver Grill Cafe offers a warm, nostalgic dining experience with a range of services that reflect its rich history and community spirit:
