About The Human Bean

Founded in 1998 in Southern Oregon, The Human Bean began with a simple mission: to create the best drive-thru coffee experience while staying deeply connected to the communities we serve. What started as a small, stand-alone coffee stand has grown into a nationwide franchise family with hundreds of locations open or in development across the country.

From the beginning, our founders—a duo of husband and wife teams—set out to build more than a business. They envisioned a place that would do good, be good, and feel like home. That vision still guides us today.

At The Human Bean, we believe in treating everyone—customers, team members, franchise partners, and farmers in our supply chain—like the good human beans they are. Every drink is made with care, and each one is topped with our signature chocolate-covered espresso bean, a small gesture that reflects our commitment to kindness, quality, and memorable experiences.
