WISEMAN & GALE 2023 is in many ways a collective of designers with a shared history. We are a select group of imaginative people, influenced by the unique elements of the American West, and a belief in good design – collaborating and contributing to each other’s work in order to create our signature one-of-a-kind interiors. The firm’s seasoned designers are impacting today’s most important residential projects, in Arizona and around the Country.

The Company was established in 1965 by founders George Wiseman and Anne Gale. Their legendary partnership, and successful early business, greatly influenced the taste, style, and creative process, of the generation of designers who followed them. Over the years, the underlying principles of their approach to design have remained the firm’s foundation – commanding scale, luxury fabrics, bold colors, interesting compositions, subtle details, and an emphasis on comfort and timeless beauty. Wiseman & Gale’s committed successors and current day partners are Patty Burdick, Jana Parker Lee, Holly Ogden, and Scott Burdick. They are leading the creative ‘virtuous’ cycle began by the founders, with talent and experience passing from one generation to the next.

1. Collaboration & Presentation

By carefully listening to our clients, we seek a comprehensive understanding of their lifestyle, individual tastes, and inspirations.

With this clarity, we develop and present personalized design schemes using visual references to articulate each space.

2. Interior Design & Decorating

The underlying principles of our approach have remained the same over our 50 year history and are our firm’s foundation – commanding scale, luxury fabrics, bold colors, interesting compositions, subtle details, and an emphasis on comfort and timeless beauty.

3. Space Planning

Every room is space planned in detail and to scale, using each piece of furniture to be purchased.  This is to ensure that the rooms, as designed, will function as expected.

4. Custom Furniture

Craftsmen in our workrooms are able to create custom pieces, both upholstered and case goods, to meet specific project criteria.

5. Textile and Color Specialist

Our designers love fabrics!  We often begin the design process by creating interesting compositions of color, texture, and pattern.

Our sources and library are the very finest in the business.

6. Fine Art and Antique Sourcing

Over our long history, we have developed deep relationships with many fine art and antique dealers throughout the country and internationally. If a client desires, we are able to share these special resources and assist in developing collections.

7. Lighting Design

Exterior, interior, and interior decorative – we have an opinion about all of it.  We will ensure that your lighting isn’t just ‘the usual.’

8. Intricate Tile & Floor Design

Using our many local and national resources, we can create custom tile and floor designs, and work with your builder to ensure that the often complicated designs are executed as intended.

9. Window Treatments

Wiseman & Gale’s custom drapery workroom is the best in the business, allowing our designers to create the finest quality window treatments.  From very simple, to the most complex imaginable, we can do it.

10. Decorative Accessories

We specialize in sourcing interesting, one-of-a-kind accessories.

11. Purchasing, Receiving, Storage, and Installation

Once design plans are approved by the client, we take it from there… we will ensure that everything is ordered correctly, shipped timely, stored carefully, and installed as intended.  If there is an issue (and there always is at least one), we fix it.

12. Project Management

A successful project requires the combined experience of multiple disciplines.  At Wiseman & Gale we are TEAM PLAYERS, and we play nicely with Arizona’s best architects, contractors, and landscape designers, as well as the finest custom artistic tradesmen.

Our design projects are often a marathon (vs. a sprint), requiring daily collaboration over many months.
