About Fairhaven Furniture

Fairhaven Furniture began with a simple dream in 1981, when founder Kerry Triffin, a passionate woodworker and new father, started crafting pine bookcases in his basement and selling them from the back of his truck to students in New Haven. What started as Fairhaven Woodworks soon blossomed into something much more.

Over the years, our workshop in Fair Haven, Connecticut, grew into a thriving furniture store with a showroom that showcased Kerry’s work alongside creations by other talented artisans. As our vision expanded, so did our collection, bringing unique home accessories and thoughtful gifts into the fold.

In 2005, we embraced our broader mission and became Fairhaven Furniture, yet our soul remains deeply rooted in craftsmanship and woodworking. Kerry and his wife, Elizabeth Orsini, poured their hearts into the business, cultivating a vibrant team with a shared passion for beautiful, meaningful furniture.

By the mid-2000s, Kerry’s nephew Lao Triffin and design aficionado Colleen Gala joined the team. When Kerry and Elizabeth retired in 2016, Lao and Colleen stepped into ownership, ushering in a new generation of growth while honoring the legacy that shaped our beginnings.

Today, Fairhaven Furniture stands as a community-driven showroom where design, quality, and imagination come together. We serve Greater New Haven with a commitment to timeless craftsmanship, ever-evolving style, and an enduring love for furniture that makes a house a home.
